4 Benefits of Yoga

It is trendy now to roll out the mat and move your body into all those different shapes for health benefits. Today we are going to zoom into five of them.

Flexibility is definitely one of them. When you just start, you might not even be able to touch your toes or a boat pose. However, with practice, you will be able to become more flexible on the mat and alleviate strained muscles, such as hamstrings.

You don’t have to hit the gym and lift heavy weights to build your muscle. You can build those strong muscle groups through doing all those difficult poses, such as doing a head stand. To make it more beneficial you can also try to add some weights to your yoga.

Many of the spin problems (and more) are due to poor postures. Yoga can help correct them when you do all those yoga poses correctly with an erect spine. Your pain and degenerative arthritis of the spine can be alleviated when you can balance your head right.

This one is specifically for ladies. Because yoga is a weight bearing exercise with your own body weight, it can help fend of osteoporosis. One study by California State University has claimed that yoga can increase bone density in the vertebrae. Those are all good reasons for us to grab our mat and do a yoga session together.
