Current COVID-19 Situation in US

The respiratory disease, COVID-19, has spread internationally. As of today, April 9, 2020, there is a total of mor than 427,000 cases and amounted a total of more than 14,000 deaths. However, not everyone has to be tested. According to CC, most people have mild illness and are able to recover at home. They are advised to stay at home and only leave for doctor’s visits. If possible, having a “sick room” would be ideal. Because just like that they should be separate from others, they should also distance themselves from as many family members as possible. Many of people rely on house pets now for company during this “social distancing” time. According to CDC, the virus is now primarily spreading from person to person, so there is no solid evidence for animal-human transmission. Even though there was an animal case, it was a tiger who had a respiratory illness at a New York zoo. And according to report, the investigation recurrent suggested that it was a zoo employee who was “actively shedding virus” and transmitted it to the animal. Just like with the vaccine development, we need more evidence to separate human with family pets to control the virus spread.
